Nissan Truck

This morning as I was driving in to work I figured hey, I've been good with my diet and exercise for the last 2 weeks, and I was really early, so I decided to stop at Von's for a bagel. (I got light cream cheese - and their bagels are made fresh daily, they are addictive!)

So, as I was standing in the checkout line, there was a man in line ahead of me he must have been in his 80s who was quite chatty with the girl working at the register (maybe he has a crush). Anyway, he started in quite adamantly about how "You young people appreciate those Japanese cars you drive you know what tomorrow is?"... he continued for another minute on a slightly racist tirade against the Japanese people because the checker and girl who was bagging didn't know what tomorrow was but was only slightly appeased when I whispered Pearl Harbor to the checker. Continued still another minute and finally finished writing his check (I finally have an appreciation for those stupid VISA commercials that are indoctrinating us to use our VISA check cards!)

The girl was VERY quick with me so she could go on a break and I was able to see the man loading his car with his groceries, well I should say his truck his NISSAN truck! priceless!

Because of this post, I remembered Pearl Harbor day! Sad, I would have been the bimbo at the checkout counter. And then when someone told me, I would have said, 'oh yeah! sorry, I dropped out of my history minor after a really nasty experience with Middle Eastern studies!"
